I’m a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate and even more for ice cream.  Ice cream may taste good, but after eating it, it leaves my stomach in lurches and my brain feeling guilty… especially when I am on the path to making healthier choices, losing weight and getting fit.  A person must not give up all their joys in life, but consuming high sugar foods ultimately is not good.  The good news; there’s usually always something that tastes as good, but instead of being bad for your health is the exact opposite! I came across this amazing smoothie by experimenting with my meal replacement protein powder.

Enter the healthy, low sugar Peanut Butter Protein Shake you won’t feel guilty for eating

I’ve been drinking Isagenix IsaLean Chocolate Meal Replacements for several years. Only this past 12 weeks, I’ve been using it as intended.. to supplement a meal. I feel amazing; my hair and skin is radiant, my energy is up 100% and I’m losing weight. Consuming junk was my downfall in the evenings. Finding healthier options to substitute your cravings is important if that helps you to stay strong from eating junk foods.

I drink IsaLean Shakes mixed only with water and it actually is one of the best tasting protein powders on the market. There’s no fake sugar or artificial ingredients. It’s low sugar, high fiber and high protein. When I got a Nutri Ninja Bowl DUO I was able to mix my meal replacement into a smoothie using water and ice. Sometimes I would use unsweetened almond milk in lieu of water.

On a trip to Costco I came across Organic PBfit Peanut Butter Powder and after reading the label decided to give it a try. My thoughts were to mix it with the Isagenix IsaLean Creamy Dutch Chocoloate powder, ice and almond milk using my Nutri Ninja. With the PBfit only adding 50 calories and an additional 6 grams of protein to my already 24 grams; I figured this would make a great meal, post workout shake or even dessert when having cravings.

What I did not know was how good it would taste! I love the taste of the creamy dutch chocolate shake, but adding the protein makes this taste like a Peanut Butter Mood.. for those that know what that tastes like. You could even add a banana, but to keep it low sugar, I prefer it without. Honestly I think it tastes better then it’s high sugar friends that you get in smoothie shops. For anyone who has stopped over-consuming sugary foods and drinks; you know what I mean!

Here’s how to make a Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Smoothie

  • Use a Nutri Ninja, Vitamix or other blender
  • Ice – about 6 cubes or to your desired consistency. (more ice makes it thicker and less ice makes it thinner)
  • 12 ounces of unsweetend almond milk
  • 2 scoops Isagenix Isalean Creamy Dutch Chocolate Powder
  • 2 tbsp of Organic PBfit or other Peanut Butter Powder (just make sure it’s low sugar)
  • Combine all the ingredients in your blender and mix until blended. About 25 seconds in Nutri Ninja or 15 seconds in Vitamix on high.
  • Pour and serve!

This truly is an amazing meal and/or post workout smoothie. Not too mention, if you are looking for a good meal replacement for on the go, the Isagenix IsaLean powder is the perfect on the go meal that’s healthy and tastes good all on it’s own!
